SURVEY SMARTER

Why you get screened out, and what actually helps

The real mechanics of qualification, and the handful of things that change your odds.

A screen-out is a matching failure, not a judgement

Most studies begin with qualifying questions. If the researcher needs 300 people who drive a diesel car and you do not, you are screened out. Nothing about your answers was wrong.

Quotas also close mid-study. You can answer the qualifiers perfectly and still be turned away because the researcher already has enough people like you. This is the single most common reason for a screen-out late in a survey.

What genuinely improves your hit rate

Complete your profile, and answer it the same way you would answer a survey. Routers match on profile data before they ever show you a study; gaps mean fewer matches.

Start studies whose stated length matches the time you actually have. Rushing the qualifiers is the fastest way to fail a quality check.

Answer consistently. Routers compare your answers across studies, and contradictions look like inattention even when they are honest mistakes.

What does not help

Guessing what the researcher wants to hear. Studies contain attention checks and consistency traps precisely to catch this, and failing them costs you the reward and the match quality that earns you future ones.

Refreshing the survey list over and over. The list reflects what partners have open right now; refreshing does not create new research.

What we do about it

When a partner funds a screen-out payment, we pass it to you in full. We do not keep a share of a screen-out.

We show the stated length and reward before you commit, and we let you leave any study at any point without penalty.
